Aberfeldy Art Salon, Breadalbane Community Campus, Aberfeldy
26 October 2012
This was the first of a proposed series of art salons to be held in various locations
throughout Perth and Kinross during 2012 and 2013.
The salons aim to give artists an opportunity to meet other local artists and to
discuss a range of topics relevant to artists working in their area and who have interests in common.
Members took part in activities and discussions and saw examples of each other's work.
Ideas were discussed for the future structure of art salons and for other activities that PVAF might
facilitate in the future.
The guest speaker for the evening was Russian artist Oleg Tsvetkov, director of
The Children's School of Art in Pskov. Oleg described the school's specialist art programmes,
which operate in addition to the core education programme for pupils aged from four to seventeen.
Oleg also runs a programme of international Plein Air Art Workshops each year.
International artists are invited to submit proposals to attend these workshops.
Oleg then selects 2 or 3 from each country, thus ensuring a divergent mix of cultures and experience.
