Kinross Art Salon,
Loch Leven Community Campus, Kinross
28 February 2013
This was the second of PVAF's Art Salons that are being held throughout Perth and Kinross during 2012 and 2013.
The Salons aim to provide a relaxed, informed but informal environment in which to meet and discuss art, culture and ideas.
Guest speaker for the evening was Diana Sykes, Director of Fife Contemporary Arts and Crafts, who talked about
FCAC and the changing visual art and craft jigsaw in Fife.
FCAC works without a venue, mounting exhibitions, hosting residencies and producing projects by local,
national and international artists and makers, working in collaboration with a range of partners.
It provides new means of supporting the development and networking of artists and makers in Fife,
including an email newsletter with weekly updates. FCA&C is funded by Creative Scotland & Fife Council.
Following this, members had an opportunity to critically discuss recent work and how we engage with our work.
Sessions were led by Catherine King, Art Lecturer and Pauline McGee, Art Therapist.
Needs and Provision for artists within Perth and Kinross were discussed in a session led by Helen O'Brien
from PKC's Arts Development Service.
