Programme – Day 1

 

9.30                    Registration opens  and viewing of Art Trail  including

                           Travelling Gallery open outside Birnam Hotel  10-5pm

11.00                  Welcome & Notices and Reports . Artists Images running on screen.

11.15 – 11.55     Kerry Morrison will  give an illustrated talks about her  ecological art

                           projects work

                           and specifically  about  the  commissioned work  created  for the  PVAF art trail.

12.00 – 12.40     Samantha Clark will  give an illustrated talks about her  art work

                           and specifically  about  the  commissioned work  created  for the  PVAF art trail.

 

12.45                   Official Opening of Artists Exhibition ‘In transit’  see participation notices

                            on the website

1pm -3.00 pm -   Lunch & Travelling Gallery and Art Trail

3.00 pm – 3.40    Speaker  Steve Messam  40 minutes. He will introduce his own work but

                            will talk specifically about the FRED project in Cumbria-  a dynamic project

                             of  artworks in rural Cumbria and his rural Fold gallery.

3.45 – 4.45           Discussion.  Developing the Artwork Trail  for 2009’. How do we proceed

                             with the art trail next year to include opportunities for  PVAF  artists and

                             involve  the local community. What do we want, what are our

                             expectations.  What is  feasible.

4.45                      Art work trail, Networking, Leaflet stall Travelling gallery closes 5pm

5.30                      Pre dinner gathering  Birnam Hotel 

6.30                      Dinner

                             Japanese/ Scottish  musical Ceilidh

 

 

Programme Day 2

 

 

9.30                      Registration  , sign up for breakouts. Art work trail

10. 30                   Welcome, News , Artists images running on screen,

 

10.45  - 11.30       Professional Development Talk  Cultural Enterprise Office.

                             Sandy Thomson  ‘How to collaborate without losing your soul” A lively

                              presentation with room for  debate and intervention.

 

11.30 -12.15         Laura Hunter. A painter from Glasgow ,  Laura is a researcher for the

                            Scottish Artists Union  and will talk about her work and in particular her 

                             experiences with galleries including issues of VAT, late payments  and

                             contracts

 

12.15 – 12.45       Ohya Rica  living on the slopes of Mount Fuji , Rica will talk  to us about

                             her work with natural materials and unfired clay. She takes us back to the 

                             heart and soul of an artists practice.

 

12.45 -   2.00        Lunch, networking and  & Art  Trail

2.00  – 3.30pm     Break out sessions –

                             choice of demonstrations, visits, walks & talks  etc as booked at registration

 

3.45 – 5pm          Open Art Surgery  Grouped  feedback discussions

                              concluding discussion.



Leaflets and posters from various arts organizations will be available in the conference hall on both days.
