Japanese artists visit to Perthshire Visual Arts Forum October 2008
ECHO artist group who are also members of the YOMIBAERU artist's band comprise
Esashi Tomoko , Kawamoto Rentaro, Ohya Rica, Takagi Kayoko, Goto Mitsuru,
Tokunaga Masayuki, Kimura Masaya.
The Group stayed in Perthshire to attend the Perthshire Visual Arts Forum .
During their visit they made grassroots connections with the local community
and with artists through workshops and musical evenings.
Five members of the ECHO group made an exhibition of their small artworks at
Birnam Institute for 3 weeks in October, they were Tomoko Esashi, Goto Mitsuru,
Kayoko Takagi, Tokunaga Masayuki, Ohya Rica.
Their programme of events during the ten day visit included
Tuesday 14th Big Draw Furoshiki * workshop Birnam Institute
Wednesday 15th Furoshiki workshop at Cupar Arts Festival Fife
Friday 17th
Informal Music evening at Bear Inn Newburgh
Saturday 18th.
Playing at the Scottish Japanese Ceildih at the Forum Dinner
Sunday 19th
Talk to Forum by Ohya Rica
Furoshiki workshop with Forum artists
Monday 20th
Drive to Arisaig togther with 2 German artists Ute Herwig and Nine Winderlich.
Wednesday 22nd
Take ferry to Isle of Skye visit 3 studios and play at an artists musical evening at Camuslusta.
